“A lot of people are blaming the State, blaming God”, says a Christian in the region. “Please pray for the country”.

Many were trapped in zones of difficult access in East Attica, near Athens. Dozens went into the sea to escape the flames. Christian organisations in the region are offering help.

The blaze started in an old nightclub nearby. Around 40 people were evacuated.“Building or no building, the church will worship God and serve our community”, the pastor says.

Two football players and the stewardess who survived the tragedy are evangelical Christians: “The situation is complicated, difficult”. Fans gathered to pray the Lord’s Prayer.
