A ‘Doctors Without Borders’ team rescued on Wednesday 209 survivors travelling in two rudimentary boats who had left Libya and were trying to reach the Italian coast.
The ‘Acquarius’ humanitarian boat took them all on board and brought them to safety.
Many of the people were “traumatised” and could barely speak.
50 minors were found among the survivors, 45 of them were unaccompanied.
