Franklin Graham: “Islam is not a religion of peace”

The well-known American pastor Franklin Graham has publicly declared that Islam is not a religion of peace.

Appearing on a Fox News interview Franklin, the son of the renowned evangelist Billy Graham, condemned the decapitation of twenty-one Egyptian Christians by the extreme Islamist group ISIS in Libya as well as questioning the policy of the White House to refer to the slain as ‘Egyptian citizens’ and not as ‘Egyptian Christians’.

He pointed out that the ISIS soldiers had merely been following the precepts of the Quran as they committed their crime. “Islam says that you can have slaves, Islam says that you can cut the heads off people, that you can kill Jews and Christians… and anybody else that doesn’t believe like you”. 

Not only did Graham denounce ISIS, but he also criticized the American President Barack Obama directly for not recognizing the evil implicit in Islam. “I’m baffled by this White House. It seems as if they want to try to believe a lie that everything’s ok when it’s not ok”.

In spite of his manifest anger, Graham –who will be in Barcelona (Spain) at the beginning of May to celebrate the International Festival of Hope- took advantage to share the message of the Gospel to the yihadists responsible for the crime:

“What they did was evil, what they did was wrong. It was a sin against God. And I know they did this thinking that they were pleasing God but it doesn’t. It’s a sin. And God loves you and God is willing to forgive you but you’ve got to be willing to confess your sin to Him and ask for His forgiveness and by faith in His Son Jesus Christ [to come] into your heart. If you do that, God will forgive you for what you’ve done. And God will heal your heart and He will invite you to be with Him for eternity in heaven. It’s important for the Muslim world to know that God does love them”.
