Be kind

In some sports it is very difficult to be nice.

In football a new term has been minted: FAIR PLAY. It refers to those players whose behaviour is an example of sportsmanship.

QUINTON FORTUNE was a Manchester United player who shone out not only for being a great player, but also because of his FAIR PLAY. It is always very important to treat everyone with sportsmanship.

The Word of God is full of verses that remind us of the importance of kindness. Being kind to others is the proof that our character is becoming more and more like that of Christ.

No one on the face of this earth ever showed the kindness and caring that our Master showed. No one cared for people with as much kindness as Him, no one knew how to fill every word with so much kindness, no one touched children in such a loving way, nor the sick or needy or unloved.

The Bible speaks of the goodness of the Lord (1 Peter 2:3). Only He can consider Himself as a source of kindness.

What does that say about us? Very simply: we should be kind to one another (Ephesians 4:32). To be good to others is not an option that educated people choose, it's a commandment for all of us.

Did you notice that I threw you two verses in one paragraph? It was done on purpose, because I believe this is one of the most important themes when dealing with our behaviour.

Because of this, I would like you to spend a few minutes marking and underlining in your Bible all of the texts you can find about goodness and kindness and all of the examples you know. Of course, don't forget to put them into practice.

Besides this, God offers a prize for all those who are kind to others. Do you remember?

Jesus said, "...anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward." I believe that obeying is worth it. Remember that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness....
