“From court rulings and testimonies of women victims of violence, we know that vixen is a term used by abusers to describe women”, says Asun Quintana, from the evangelical feminist group Seneca Falls, in Madrid.

“It is important to build bridges to society, to show the biblical response, and to be heard”, said the coordinator of the working group on Women of the Spanish Evangelical Alliance.

Evangelicals must help to change the sexist mentality, talk and preach about it, making it clear that the enemy is not the male, but sin.

On the International Women’s Day, the Seneca Falls platform in Spain underlines that “the Bible condemns inequality, machismo and all kind of violence against women”.

The government party drives the conversation about abolition. Evangelicals hope such a law will move forward, but demand a deeper social change.

The “historical” feminists have totally rejected the Spanish trans draft law because they see it as a step backwards in equality that also “endangers children”.

The Seneca Falls Platform aims to raise awareness about women’s equality in rights and freedoms, both in the church and in society, from a biblical perspective.
