The Pluralism and Coexistence Foundation of the Spanish Ministry of Justice, has produced the documentary “Change the framework: New looks for an intercultural society”.

The project seeks to “show religious plurality” through “the individual experience” of nienteen boys and girls between 14 and 21 years old. They belong to groups and faiths as different as Atheism, Baha'is, Buddhism, Catholicism, Scientology, Orthodox church, Jews, Muslims, Protestantism (Evangelicals), Mormons and Sikhism.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AND DIVERSITY

According to the producers, the documentary hopes to “reinforce three key messages: religious freedom is a fundamental right to protect and value, Spanish society is religiously diverse, and we can only be a cohesive society if we respect, accept and appreciate the difference”.

The project also aims to “provide new languages, perspectives and experiences to contribute to a greater understanding and appreciation of religious freedom in the framework of human rights”.

“A SPACE OF EXCHANGE AND PERSONAL EXPRESSION”

The documentary premieres on November 26, but since November 16, Pluralism and Coexistence is publishing fragments of the shooting with the young people who have participated in the project.

“We have created a space of exchange and personal expression, in which young believers of the different faiths are accompanied by a filmmaker in a creative process that combines reflection on their individual life experiences, with the learning of cinematographic techniques and languages, as a means of communication”, the authors explained.

The different audiovisual materials will be available in the “Change the framework” website, and distribute on social media.
