The seagull

Where are we getting our food supply as believers? Are we feeding on God’s Word, or do we prefer other sources of nourishment?

The European herring gull (Larus argentatus), like this one I photographed on the Mediterranean Costa Brava usually makes its nest in the rocky cliffs of the shoreline, and the sea is the main source of its food. It was designed to feed on fish and other marine organisms.

However, due to the increase in the amount of waste generated by humans, its eating habits have changed. Now gulls are also a common sight in landfill sites. In fact, in some places they have become a veritable plague and are even nicknamed, with some justification, “the rats of the air”.

“So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, "Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but 'in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.'" (Revelation 10 v 9).
