Around 1,300 young people from former Yugoslavia countries gathered in Šibenik (Croatia). Fellowship, Bible training and evangelism were the priorities of a programme strongly supported by Christian leaders in the region.
Young people aged 13 to 30 from all six countries of the former Yugoslavia met in Šibenik (Croatia) to attend a Christian festival that sought to encourage Christians and form new partnerships.
Sources said around 1,300 travelled from to the coastal town, where the summer festival between 24 and 29 June offered 50 workshops addressing all kind of topics of society and faith, seeking a relevant cultural approach.
Most of the speakers were nationals of Balkan countries working on the ground and leading churches and Christian missions in these countries.
The schedule combined different languages, including English, Bosnian, Croatian, Slovenian and Serbian.
An evangelistic in Poljana Square on Saturday, and concerts were also on the programme. Participants could sleep in tents or in more sophisticated bungalows.
Srcokret Fest 2025 aims to unite young Christians “from across the Balkans for six days of worship, community, and celebration of Jesus Christ”, the organisers said.
“This joyful event combines evangelism, worship, and fun, set in a beautiful coastal location. With community activities and the support of regional Christian leaders, Srcokret Fest connects the young generation to the Great Commission and fosters lifelong relationships”.
The plural team that initiated the festival has also started a podcast on issues of gospel, culture and evangelism in the Balkan context.
They hoped “young people can encounter God, build meaningful relationships, and return home with renewed energy to impact their communities”.
