In Norway, voters re-elected Conservative Erna Solberg as head of the government.

“It looks like a clear victory”, the Prime Minister said, when the counting was coming to a close and her coalition had gained 89 of the 169 seats of the parliament.

Solberg is the first centre-right leader to be re-elected since 1985.

Speaking to her supporters, she said: “Our solutions have worked; we have created jobs”.

During the campaign, she promised to reduce taxes to help the growth of the economy.

The Labour party had promised to raise taxes for the wealthiest, but lost the election with 80 seats.

The Prime Minister will lead the country in coalition with the Progress Party, an anti-inmigration group.
