O’Bros win title of best emerging band with powerful live shows. Maxi and Alex: “The world needs Jesus”.
The band O’Bros won in January the latest SPH band contest, beating hundreds of other new groups after performing live in several German cities. It is claimed to be the biggest contest of its kind in Europe.
The two young Hip-Hop rappers, Maxi (22) and Alex (21) are committed Christians, German magazine Pro reported. With their music, O’Bros encourage other young Christians to “live faith openly and proudly”. Rap music makes it easy to share clear messages “through which can touch the people’s heart directly”, they said.
The two brothers from Munich contested in live shows against other bands. Concerts were organised in over 70 cities, all of them reviewed by professional juries. More than 200 supporters of the Christian band attended the final.
Their aim is to share Jesus with those who do not have a Bible in their hands, O’Bros told Pro. Their faith in God is the reason why they produce music, they explained. Their faith shapes how they sing about everyday issues: “The world needs Jesus, he is a better way”.
Their aim is to live a “Spirit-led lifestyle, which shows a committed following [of Jesus] which also links to modern culture”.
Do they dream of a professional career in music? “If God opens doors, then we will walk through them”, they say.
