TWR launches an app for Persian Farsi-speaking people. “We want to reach migrants in Europe with the gospel. We are focused mainly at first on Afghans and Iranians”.
The renewed Sunday app, which presents the gospel in a clear way to the Persian Farsi-speaking people in Europe whether that is by the written word, audio or video, has been launched.
The driving force behind the Sunday app is Matthea Hoogenboom-Vrij, who gives thanks to God for the funding that enabled the new app to be built with exciting new content.
“The main thing is that we want to reach migrants in Europe with the gospel. We are focused mainly at first on Afghans and Iranians in Europe”, said Hoogenboom-Vrij.
18 months ago, TWR built a Sunday Farsi app but were faced with the issue of having to move it from one digital platform to another. But with the required funding they were able to secure the app on the new platform as well as updating it.
Now, they have started marketing it through a professional marketing firm which will expand the reach into the Farsi-speaking community. The social media advertisements are generating responses from Farsi-speaking individuals, both Christians and non-Christians.
Furthermore, the follow-up team carefully addresses all serious inquiries.
The Sunday project was started by an alliance of Northern European Christian media organizations who are independent but work together with TWR Europe.
It has now has over 1000 downloads, and the hope is that it will see a major uplift in numbers with a potential audience of hundreds of thousands.
The app offers a basic introduction to Christianity, further teaching to those who have committed to Christ, a 24/7 Christian radio station and a ‘Welcome to Europe’ package so migrants have an understanding of the continent they have arrived on.
There is also a plan to develop outreach to those from Somalia.
