When good work pays off

Several Christian entrepreneurs in Spain have recently been recognised for their exemplary work.

There are dozens of Christian entrepreneurs in Spain who are part of the group Gospel, Economy and Business, and several of them have recently received recognition for their work in their professional and social circles.

Business growth

Jesús Fernández has shown how a company can reinvent itself in an increasingly global market, be competitive and grow.

His company Foticos (Wanapix) in the Spanish city of Zaragoza, has received in recent years, among others: the MAZ Healthy company award (2016), runner-up in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) award of the Zaragoza chamber of commerce for digitalisation and innovation (2019) and for training and employment (2020), the Export award of the Zaragoza chamber of commerce (2021), Digital transformation award (CEPYME) and diploma as a finalist in the Job creation award SME category (2022).

Furthermore, in the last two years, Foticos has appeared on the CEPYME500 list, which brings together the leading companies in business growth.

A very special medal

The life of Yukonda Esparragoza is a journey of overcoming and faith. This Venezuelan businesswoman based in the Canary Islands has received several awards for her work at Lavandería (Laundry) Romeral, where she has overcome various crises to consolidate the company and grow by applying persistent values throughout the work process.

Esparragoza was recently recognised at the ‘CaixaBank 2023 Businesswoman awards’ in the Canary Islands.

Lavandería Romeral was also awarded at the CINET Awards with the Textile services Industry Excellence Award and the National best practices 2022 Spain award.

It also received the SME Enterprize from Generali for its commitment to environmental sustainability in 2022.

But the most special recognition was probably the one she received from the King Felipe VI. The Royal House awarded Esparragoza with the medal of the Order of Civil Merit, for the work carried out by the laundry in the recovery of tourist activity after the Covid pandemic.

“I am not ashamed of who I am, a daughter of God, and wherever I go I try to give words of encouragement", pointed out Esparragoza.

A boost at the start of a career

There are sectors in which public recognition, through awards and mentions, consolidates a project and gives wings to its promoters.

Loida García, a filmmaker and audiovisual director, was strongly committed to her first work, a short film entitled Anna Kan Alles, which tells the story of a young woman trying to navigate between her faith and her sexuality.

This original project won the prize for best script at the Noia short film festival in October 2024. A few weeks later, it won the Best direction award at the Almería International film festival.

Passion for art

Martha Ramírez Uribe, decided to found Beulart after a career of over 30 years in the artistic and cultural sector, “guided by the grace of God”.

“My faith has been the driving force to create this space, where art and spirituality meet to impact lives and open new horizons in artistic management”, she said.

The inauguration of this project took place last October in the historic Royal Cavalry Armoury Palace in Valencia.

The evening focused on the work of the artist Francisco Sanchis Cortés, ‘a talent who represents our vision of supporting both emerging and established artists,’ Martha told Spanish news website Protestante Digital.

The inauguration was attended by personalities from the business, cultural, social, political, media and sporting spheres related to the world of horses.

The event was a success, with reviews in the press highlighting the quality of the organisation and of the paintings on display. “A night to remember”, reported the digital newspaper El periòdic.

After the evening, Martha said that “it was a true reflection of our passion for art and our mission to connect artists, collectors and art lovers in unique experiences”.

This article was produced for the Líderes Empresariales section of Protestante Digital, an initiative of the Gospel, Economy and Business (Tres-E) group in Spain.
