Over 350 deaf people from 32 countries gathered from 4-11 October in the Spanish town of Lloret de Mar for the 6th World Deaf Assemblies of God Conference (WDAG).
It was the first conference of this kind held in the same country and ahead the Assemblies of God World Congress. The latter was held in Madrid just the day after the conclusion of the WDAG, so that some participants used the chance to attend the larger event for delegates from almost every country in the world.
Under the theme "Rivers of Living Water", the gathering for deaf Christians was not only a space for worship and fellowship, but also a forum to address topics such as "The filling of the Holy Spirit", "Challenges to fulfilling the gospel commission" and "Reaching missions".
Linguistic diversity was very present at the gathering, with a wide variety of sign languages: American, French, Spanish, International, Japanese, Italian, Estonian, Russian and Korean.
According to the organisers, "this conference was not only a celebration of faith, but also a moving testimony that God has no limits and reveals himself to all who seek him, regardless of hearing ability, gender or nationality".
"This unique experience of unity in Christ is a reminder that the Christian faith celebrates diversity and unity in the body of Christ", they said.
