I will not let you go

We say to God one way or another that we don't have time for Him.

All of us who were there in the Olympic Stadium knew what could happen, but to him it didn't matter.



One of the world's fastest sprinters, MIKE MARSH, lost it in the last few metres of his semi-final when he was beating the others hollow... he missed out on the world record by a hundredth of a second!



It was the 200m semi-final in Barcelona, 1992, and the record was left intact.



Did you know we can sometimes miss out on things because we're not properly tuned in? We think they don't matter. It's no big deal if we win or lose; it's just not worth the hassle.



And just the same can happen with our relationship with God. We make it look as if it's no big deal; so what if we 'have the victory' or not? Listen: I'm not talking here about our salvation, but about the time we spend with the Lord.



About whether we 'feel like' listening to him and chilling out with him. Have you fixed your mind on seeking God and not letting him go? Have you sought Him with all you have? Have you even asked for His blessing on today's events? Well? Have you?



No Christian will be a winner without spending time on their knees. No-one can know God without spending quality fellowship time with Him. Nothing makes sense if we haven't seen it in the light of his presence.



Think about it. What are your knees like? Just how is your fellowship with God? How often have you been in his presence lately?



You don't have an excuse. You can't hide your need for God. You can't say, 'He's busy right now.' You just can't. No-one has ever gone to God and heard him say, 'Sorry, pal. I'm a bit tied up right now. I can't fit you in.'



However, WE say this. We say to God one way or another that we don't have time for Him. And as a result we throw away the victory, we throw away the blessing, we throw away the best moments of our lives.



We ALL need to learn this lesson. If we're so busy that we have no time for God, then we're just TOO busy.



Nowhere in the scriptures does it say anything about it being spiritual to go from one thing to another, ruining our health and by- passing any chance of spiritual renewal. No.



To go through some nervous breakdown, a bout of depression, some big family crisis caused by our 'work' - whatever - none of this is 'spiritual'. It's much more carnal than it appears.



I don't think we've yet learned the meaning of spiritual renewal and the renewing of our mind and body. Why don't you set aside some time today to get renewed and restored in God's presence?



'I won't let you go unless you bless me...' - here's someone who really knows what matters. Can you make those words yours?
