Why is there no room for God in our society?
One of the lands most neglected by missions is still ours! I am shocked when I go into a shop by the lack of the presence of God.
‘That’s how it is! We don’t sell either music or books about him! It’s always been like that!’
Is that a reason for thinking it’s alright? There are absolutely thousands of philosophies and beliefs (for example: astrology, stories about magicians and trolls) ... Why is there no room for God in our society?
Okay, it’s true, there is the vegetable aisle: someone could be deeply moved observing the beauty of creation in a cabbage leaf... then again... as things stand, I haven’t seen many conversations in the vegetable aisle.
Victorious or not...
Following a fight worthy of a ninja-lion to get my comic books out there, which resulted in the beginning of a victory (OK, it’s true, they’re only there when they are first published... ah well),
I was coming back from a tour at the end of the week in the schools of Valais to share my testimony, as well as to use some of my weekend to lead a restaurant-church (brunch worship, if you prefer). People eat while you talk.
Anyway, after all of that, God told me (through someone else - it wasn’t by phone this time) that, even if I didn’t do any of all those things at all, if I was just myself, he loved me.
I know, it’s so simple...but, as for me, it made me cry.
