Persist in everything that God has taught you throughout the years, as there is still so much to discover ahead of us.
The life of an elite athlete is usually very short: The ones who reach the top might enjoy 12 years as professional players, or a little longer.
A good football player who starts to stand out at a very young age might be able to play for good teams until he is 34 or 35 years old, not more. The problem is not only the physical fullness, but also the recovery from the injuries.
FABIO AURELIO played for Liverpool and he is a great example for the young people as in regards to persisting and continuing in tough times and despite of the injuries.
He is one of the best right backs of the world and at a very young age he learned to trust in God in every moment and to persist even if everyone else was getting discouraged. All the teams need players like him.
Most people become discouraged very quickly. However good our objectives, as soon as they require more effort, we abandon them.
This occurs in all areas of our life: there are people who give up their studies, work, sport, and hobbies... Yes, we like the easy life and when we have to work too hard we “jump ship”.
Only those who persist until the end obtain the things they desire. As one poet wrote: “Those who wait, persevere; Those who persevere, attain. For this reason it is good to wait And not lose hope”.
In our spiritual life, many things depend on our persistence and our practical application. God does not get tired of reminding us of the things we should do and how we should be persistent following His word.
We will never get anywhere any other way because God does not give prizes for those who rest spiritually. So:
Don't give up, don't be negligent. Persist in everything that God has taught you throughout the years, as there is still so much to discover ahead of us.
