Evangelicals in Africa's fourth most populous country share their hopes and fears.

During the pandemic, the French Bible Alliance started the Manuscript Bible. Public figures such as footballer Olivier Giroud or doctor Denis Mukwege copied passages.

Over 200 bookshops and other organisations take part in a project to raise interest in the Bible.

“If we are Christ’s, we have no choice but to be alongside the weak”, Mukwege, who was also a member of IFES, said in a recent conference.

Yazidi activist and sexual slavery survivor, Nadia Murad, and Congolese gynaecologist, Denis Mukwege, won the Nobel Peace Prize.
