From 30 July to 3 August, the German Evangelical Alliance holds its annual conference. Participants of all ages will enjoy a varied program of Bible studies, music, workshops and sports.
The German Evangelical Alliance (EAD) will hold its 129th Alliance Conference from 30 July to 3 August in Bad Blankenburg, a city located in the Thuringia region of Germany.
The theme of this year is ‘Focus Jesus’, and the daily plenaries “will deal with the letter to the Colossians”.
“In times like these, it is particularly important to stay focussed, set priorities and concentrate”, said the EAD in a statement.
In addition to the plenaries in the conference hall, participants will be able to choose from over 40 seminars and workshops, including creative formats as well as programmes on pastoral care, music, political and social issues, hikes and sporting activities, among others.
At the same time, 54 Christian organisations and associations from the Evangelical Alliance network will present their initiatives and projects at the Stadthalle Alliance Fair.
There will also be a sports programme for children, time for worship, a family festival on Saturday afternoon, and the ‘Hoffnungszeichen’ (Signs of hope) concert on Saturday evening.

The conference is free of charge and is financed by donations.
The Alliance Conference has been held in Bad Blankenburg annually, with a few interruptions, since 1886.
It was founded as a Bible and faith conference by the writer Anna von Weling, who also founded a diaconal centre with an orphanage, and is now organised by the EAD.
“We see ourselves as the conference of the Evangelical Alliance and as a family gathering in Germany”, pointed out Hans-Günter Schmidts, the conference director.
