Around 1,500 people attended the 51st Teen Mission Meeting in Monbachtal near Bad Liebenzell in the northern Black Forest (Germany).

Participants celebrated, prayed, talked to missionaries and took part in workshops and seminars. The event was organised by the Liebenzeller Mission, the Christian guest houses in Monbachtal and the South German and South-West German youth association ‘Entschieden für Christus’ (Decided For Jesus).

This year’s motto was “Okay, let's go!” and Felix Unger, serving with the Liebenzeller Mission in Spain, compared life with God to a race in which various obstacles repeatedly prevent you from reaching the finish line and could become pitfalls. These could be excessive use of social media or computer games, unhealthy relationships or pornography.

Felix Unger encouraged the young people to trust God in everything: “I want to motivate you. Start with God. He can either take your burdens away or carry them for you”. He himself got to know himself in a completely different way through his faith in God: “I discovered that I have talents that I didn't even know I had”, said Felix Unger. The wonderful thing about the Christian faith is that God offers people a personal relationship through Jesus Christ: “Jesus loves you incredibly, is waiting for you and wants to be with you”. Christ is the perfecter of faith: “When we realise that Jesus is present in our lives, his joy and love give us new strength”.

Luca Eichel, of the Liebenzeller Mission in Frankfurt, said that many people feel that they are not really important to anyone: “Everyone has a longing to be important to someone. I believe that God has placed this longing in us”. That is why it hurts when we find ourselves in situations where we are not needed. Every human being is important to God. Most people are searching for who they are and how they can be happy. “God longs to meet each and every one of us and show us his deep love. God is still writing this story and wants to write it through you”.

The Bible is full of stories about how God writes history with ordinary people: “He wants to reach your class, your neighbourhood, your sports club through you. He wants you to be part of it because He has great things in store for you”.

Singer Promise of the Lord was also at the teen mission meeting. He played some of his songs, talked about his life and spoke about his motivation for making Christian music.

Over the course of the weekend, there were 15 seminars, workshops and creative activities such as songwriting. Seminars dealt with topics such as vocation, mental health, prayer and decision-making.

The daily programme included the opportunity to read the Bible together and a stage with various performances.

As in previous years, the three-day event concluded with a sponsored run over an obstacle course through water, sand and mud. The proceeds from the run, which amounted to more than 33,000 euros, will go to charitable and social projects in Bangladesh. Among other things, several children’s villages are supported there.

The first Teen Mission Meeting took place in 1974. The next meeting will take place from 15 to 17 May 2026.
