A free adaptation, in a poem, of the prayer of Jesus Christ.
Our Father
who are in the heavens
of our horizon.
May you name be set apart
from the religious atheists
and from the believers’ impositions and mistakes.
Your will be done,
in heaven as it is on earth,
above creeds
and those who negotiate your name.
Give us today our daily bread,
and that we give it as well.
Forgive our debts
more generously
than when we forgive theoretically
those who still owe us a lot,
and are our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
nor to the terrible pseudo-perfection.
But deliver us from bad
to be a source of good,
and not just a clean wasteland.
For yours is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
in this sometimes incomprehensible history.
For ever and ever.
Amen.
