She is a subject of a new documentary, Right-Footed, and was present at its premiere on Friday. There, she met Ruth Evelyn Pranke, 3, who was born without arms. Jessica said to her that she can do not anything.
Pranke's mother, Karlyn Pranke, said that she wanted that Ruth should meet Cox. So that she could come to know being born without arms should not be a restraining factor in her life. Cox, 32, is a black belt in Taekwondo, has pilot’s license and is a superb pianist. She has done all these things without using prosthetic arms.
At the premiere event, she signed autograph for Ruth by grasping pen with her foot.
Pranke said that when she came to know that her child will be born without arms, she started searching internet and from there, she came to know about Cox and her achievements’.
“Ever since, it's been very inspirational to me that [Cox] has come as far as she has to overcome her disability – and my daughter has always said, especially lately, 'I want arms, I want arms’ “, said Pranke.
After meeting Cox, Ruth is feeling quite positive and is pumped up for things in her life.
