Christian Solidarity Worldwide launches a report on Cuban government “hardline tactics”, amid recent protests on the island due to the food and public services crisis.
According to a report by the US embassy in the country, they increased from 12% in 2008 to 26%-30% in 2020. It is the faith that has grown the most.
The EFI has published its report on the persecution of Christians in the first six months of 2021. They have identified 145 incidents, including three murders.
According to the Observatory for Religious Freedom and Conscience, these incidents grew by 20% in 2018.
The UK government has ordered a review “to map Christian persecution worldwide, and make recommendations on the practical steps it can take to support those under threat”.
According to the US State Department annual report, "almost 80% of the global population live with restrictions to limit their freedom of religion.”
Another concern is the governmental regulation of religious groups to stifle the freedom to worship. The report also takes aim at the genocide against Christians carried out by Daesh and Boko Haram.
