Every 31 October, the beginning of the Protestant Reformation is commemorated around the world. Wittenberg in Germany was the place were Martin Luther's 95 theses were first read.

On 31 October the Protestant Reformation is commemorated around the world, just over five centuries after Luther nailed his 95 theses in Wittenberg (Germany).

Five hundred years later, the Solas give us as followers of Jesus our identity. When people ask, “What makes you an evangelical?”, we can respond with the five solas.

For the Catholic Church, “by grace alone” means that grace is intrinsically, constitutionally, and necessarily linked to the sacrament, and thus to the Church that administers it.

The issue at stake is whether or not Luther is to be rescued from himself in order to be heard by the church and the world.
