Swiss Evangelical Alliance believes it is “a step in the wrong direction” to reduce public aid to developing countries to only 0.3% of GDP.

The United Nations confirmed 11 deaths, lowering an earlier figure of 24. Local people and aid agencies say that the rebuilding effort will be immense.

“About 650 families will not be able to provide income because water flooded the crops,” said Evangelicals on the ground. Aid is needed for “people who have lost everything”.
