Marion Carson lives in Glasgow with her husband, Douglas, who is a chartered engineer. She worked as a psychiatric nurse for several years, before gaining a PhD in Biblical Studies from the University of Glasgow. An ordained Baptist chaplain, she was previously lecturer in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Care at International Christian College in Glasgow. She is an Honorary Fellow of New College, Edinburgh and a member of the EBF Theological Education Commission. She currently serves as Chaplain to Glasgow City Mission, working with people affected by homelessness and addictions, and asylum seekers and refugees. Her academic work is interdiscplinary in nature, bringing together her passion for the care of vulnerable adults and practical Biblical hermeneutics. Her current research is on Biblical hermeneutics and mental health, and on the nature of discipleship.
