Wolfgang Fernández is a Venezuelan who has spent more than four decades walking alongside vulnerable communities in over 80 nations. He is committed to faith expressed through justice, dignity, and practical restoration. Educated in theology and missiology at Tyndale University, Jessup University, and FullerTheological Seminary, Wolfgang founded Next Step in 2003 to advance sustainable community development across Asia, Europe, and North America. Since 2016, he has returned to active service in Venezuela, mentoring emerging leaders and helping establish Next Step Venezuela and Nexus Ltd., initiatives dedicated to national renewal through local action. He is the author of How Evangelicals Got the Gospel Wrong (2025) and is married to Vivien Hsu, an international real estate and biotech startup investor.
