Assemblies of God, the largest Pentecostal movement in France, has 426 local churches in the country but is committed to planting new congregations.
At the 97th annual congress held from 25 to 27 March 2025, the evangelical denomination in France focused on “going further together”, in a call for improve the collaboration between churches and build unity for mission.
Around 700 representatives of churches attended the congress.
“The fundamental issue addressed among many other subjects was the consideration of the different ministries within the movement, in order to better experience the articulation of the body of Christ”, wrote the magazine Pentecote in a report. “This subject was addressed in particular by Pastor Alexandre Antoine, living unity in diversity on the basis of the text of Ephesians 4”.
On one of the evenings, 39 new pastoral couples were presented and commissioned for ministry. Another 5 couples were officially sent on mission abroad.

The congress dealt with various internal issues such as the need to put down on paper a better definition of what the Assemblies of God are, as well as a reflection on the role of women in ministry. The approval of documents with policies on protection, ethics or pastoral discipline was also on the schedule.
The Assemblies of God are working on digital tools to archive the movement’s data (both past and present), in order to maintain the “dynamism” of gospel partnerships and projects.
Pastor Glyn Barrett, president of the Assemblies of God in Great Britain, was one of the guests at the French ADD congress. He shared messages based on Genesis 1, Luke 8 and 1 Samuel.
The Congress appealed churches in France to to establish new congregations in regions where there is not enough Christian presence.
