The ‘Brigades des Flambeaux de l'Évangile’ of the French-speaking region have 18 local groups. Around 1,000 gathered to celebrate the anniversary.
A large tent in the shape of Rome’s Colosseum in the middle of the camp welcomed on 20 July hundreds of people to celebrate the 60 years of the Brigades de Flambeaux de l'Évangile.
Young and old came together to look back to the history of this evangelical movement whose aim is to “enable young people to flourish and become men and women according to God’s heart through scouting”.
“Our watchword is taken from the letter to the Philippians 2:15: Shine like torches in the world, bearing the word of life”, the movement says on its website.

This summer, the theme of the camps (whose first group was that of children aged 5 and more), was “Cabri24-IKTUS”. The whole camp is set in the Roman Empire, and explores the life of the Christians of the 1st century, just after Christ’s ascension.
The celebration in the municipality of Rossinière (Canton Vaud) included food stalls, games, and music.

Around 1,000 people attended the open doors event, which provided for many inter-generational encounters.
The Brigades have 18 local groups across the Romandy (the western French-speaking part of Switzerland).
