All of the students killed are women. They were coming back from an organised trip to Valencia’s Fallas regional festival.
More than 20 students travelling in a bus from Valencia to Barcelona (Spain) on Sunday morning are still injured. The last official number of victims is 13, all of them women.
Seven of the Erasmus students who joined a trip for some days to the well-known Fallas of Valencia (a festival which finished on Saturday evening) and died after the crash are Italian Erasmus students. 2 other students were from Germany, 1 from France, 1 from Romania, 1 from Austria and 1 from Uzbekistan.
All of the victims were between 19 and 25 years old.

The bus crash could have happened due to a human failure, but the investigation has not yet given an official explanation. The driver was hurt and passed the alcohol and drugs test. The coach was the last of a group of 5 which brought the students back from a trip organised by the Erasmus Student Network.
All the victims were studying abroad programmes in the University of Barcelona (UB).
The regional Catalan government said they would do their best to repatriate the bodies to their home countries as fast as possible.
