Hacksaw Ridge tells the story of American Army Medic Desmond Doss, who became the first Conscientious Objector in US history. It has been praised by film critics.
Hacksaw Ridge is Mel Gibson's new project. The movie has already received a warm welcome by film critics and will be seen in cinemas in November.
According to IMDB, “the film tells the story of American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people and becomes the first Conscientious Objector in American history to be awarded the Medal of Honor.”
The film clearly shows the faith in God of Toss, who was a Seventh-day Adventist, and his desire to stay true to the Bible in the midst of the armed conflict.
GOOD REVIEWS IN SECULAR MEDIA
Althought the film will be only seen in cinemas in November (USA and Europe), users of IMDB already rate the film 9/10. Media like The Guardian, Time Out New York and The Hollywood Reporter wrote reviews praising the movie.
In its world premiere at the Venice Festival (out of competition) on September 4, the movie received a 10-minute standing ovation, according to Deadline Holywood.
