In the cities, nativity scenes seem to be back in fashion, and some political leaders even make explicit Christmas greetings mentioning the birth of Jesus.
As the year draws to a close, Christmas is finally here. The secularised Europe we report on in Evangelical Focus is also a place where many cling to a Christian holiday to find some peace and meaning.
Around us, many still look forward to the time when they can come together as a family. In the cities, nativity scenes seem to be back in fashion, and some political leaders even make explicit Christmas greetings mentioning the birth of Jesus.
Faith in Jesus, of course, is what unites the Evangelical Focus core team and those who contribute to this site from many countries. Our interest in analysing current affairs from Europe stems from the confidence that the gospel is indeed good news.
Christmas tells us of a loving and sovereign God who is involved in our daily lives. We, for our part, will continue to try to find what an evangelical (in the sense of evangel - gospel) perspective brings to the the reality around us.
Thank you for reading us this year and supporting our work.
We wish you all a Happy Christmas!
